OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide education and resources to the public and victims of homicide and violent crimes through the use of community murals, documentary series, art installations, and our various social media platforms. ​ For all intent and purpose, Survivor's Media LLC will operate as a non-profit, and all operational and project costs will come from public and private donations. We are in the process of applying for 501c3 Non-Profit status and will continue to work towards becoming a vehicle for education and change in our communities.

PAULA GARDNER

Cofounder, Chief Executive Officer, Head of Fundraising

Paula Gardner is a dedicated community advocate who has devoted her life to improving the neighborhoods and communities around her. Born in Oakland, CA and coming into adulthood in Sacramento, CA Paula Gardner has always had a giving soul.

Over the years, Paula has been involved in a wide range of community service projects, from organizing Neighborhood Night Out for years and providing resources for less fortunate families during the holiday giving season. She is known for her efforts producing murals for surviving families of homicide victims.

​

Paula is a firm believer in the power of community engagement and collaboration, and is always seeking new ways to bring people together to create positive change. She believes that by working together, we can build stronger, more vibrant communities that are better equipped to address the challenges we face.

DIEGO SALAZAR

Cofounder, Executive Director, Strategy & Operations Manager

Diego Salazar is an entrepreneur, having owned and operated a multimedia company before starting a business providing automotive equipment sales and services.

 

Paula and Diego are brother and sister. Following the tragic murder of their niece Michelle Benavidez, Paula Gardner teamed up with Diego Salazar to create a vehicle for change, allowing the team to focus efforts on community education and outreach providing support for families who have experienced the tragic loss of a loved one.
